Obviously it is all subjective but that colour and the image (one of my favourite images from my favourite illustrated Tolkien book), coupled with that slip may well prove too much for my resolve. I think that is absolutely stunning.

That really is very nice. The colour is, of course, quite reminiscent of the 1998 CT / Nasmith signed deluxe edition, which is one of my favourite HarperCollins editions.

My toddler has learned to say "I NEED IT!!!!" in the last week. He repeats this a LOT whilst struggling to reach whatever thing he doesn't actually need.

Oh my... this is absolutely gorgeous. Unfortunately, I will probably have to stick with the standard if I choose to go for this edition at all. That said, I'm excited to see some pictures of this when it comes out, and I'm happy for all of you who are planning to buy it.
