1971 edition with all the pages inside being perfect. Its hardback cover looks much older and quite suitable for a book like this. It gives it a Ye Olde feel that matches the content.

Uh, what? £205?!
Wouldn't have been unusual a few years back, but seems a bit steep these days.

Former Seattle Youth Symphony violinist Linder Chlarson - who had recently returned to the USA after studying music in Paris for the preceding two years - came to Seattle to participate in 1953's summer program, the Pacific Northwest Music Camp (outside the Cascade Mountains town of North Bend, WA). In 1954 he teamed up with writer JRR Tolkien, and ended up composing a soundtrack for The Fellowship of The Rings.

Oof... how long you been saving that one?
Uhm... Can you help me understand why this is at 180£? It's clear it's not even one of the first impressions.
Blimey, people are actually bidding on it too!
But I have noticed on the official Tolkien books site that this is unavailable. Just at the moment or finally stopped the run? Also does anyone know which impression the 50th anniversary title actually disappeared from the spine?

Almost certainly shill bids from a couple of shill accounts. The seller has zero feedback and there is no reason for this to be anything more than £50. If something smells bad, it usually is.

Tolkien Shop (in the Netherlands) should never have sold this copy, IMHO. I've never bought from them (always looks expensive), but I can't see any sensible reason why any dealer would sell a copy like this, rather than just tossing it. Reputations are ruined by selling garbage like this.
