Rare book cellar is widely despised in the Easton Press Community for consistently selling books at many multiples of the EP list price (and for saying they are first prints when they often aren't or there is simply no way to know if they are). I've never read anything good about him.

While this is not not, of course, the Manifesto of the Communist Party ?? I'm curious... Which edition is that? I don't remember those dust jackets
The volumes themselves could be the standard U.S. hardbacks and I cant be more specific than that. The dust covers are produced by an American company called Juniper books. They do a lot of this type of thing. Their previous covers were the Doors of Moria I believe.

Exactly right, it seems Juniper has updated their dustjackets. They take the newest hardbacks that HoughtonMifflin has and slap their own DJ on them. Here are the other ones that Huan68 is referring to, a poor rendition of the doors, I might add.
They also sell the dustjackets ONLY, so if you see something you like - Tolkien or otherwise - there's a tab on the product image that tells you which editions they fit. So if you have them already, you're good to go, and have your choice of dustjackets (publisher's original vs Juniper).
The set of books that they use for the Moria artwork are these editions: https://www.tolkienbooks.us/lotr/us/hc/hm1988

I guess this book isn't completely worthless. Should be interesting to see what it ends at.
it would be perfect for balancing my table in the garage ?
It was €189 when it was bought up on reddit, though none of the previous backstory is mentioned in this listing, does make me think that the reddit story may not have been true.
