Looking up that ISBN it appears to be a Houghton Mifflin Hardcourt publication.

That's correct.
Remember that the latest publication of Letters From Father Christmas, we've had the Houghton Mifflin listing months ahead of the HarperCollins being posted.

It could also just mean that HMH are reprinting the existing book as a 40th Anniversary edition. Is it currently out of print as a hardback in the US, I think it is by HarperCollins in the UK, so a reprint may be coming.

Amazon US (and likely other retailers) are showing it as "In stock", and, most importantly, sold through Amazon themselves (ie, it's "new" and not a "used" copy)
ISBN for their (Houghton Mifflin) current paperback is 9780618056996.

Well, there's only been one edition in hardback from both Houghton Mifflin and George Allen & Unwin, and it's been in paperback ever since.

Houghton Mifflin have told me that the listing is incorrect, and there is not an edition from them coming out this year.

Thanks for the update - that's unfortunate, though.
