Hello everyone,
I just wanted to let you know that the hardback trade edition reprint of George, Allen & Unwin - A Remembrancer (£30), should be live to buy on our website tomorrow morning, Friday 5 March:
https://merlinunwin.co.uk/collections/ ... in?variant=34339769450627
The ebook edition (also £30) will be available to purchase on 1 June 2021. [@uruloke edit to correct date]
In addition, however, I wanted to give you notice that we have decided to produce a Special Edition which will be limited to just 50 copies.
Each copy of the Special Edition will be numbered, with a tipped-in bookplate, signed by Rayner Unwin’s son, publisher Merlin Unwin.
In partnership with expert craftsmen at Ludlow Bookbinders (www.ludlowbookbinders.co.uk), the Special Edition will be presented in a hand-made black buckram slipcase, lined with grey suede, and with gold foil blocking of the George Allen & Unwin colophon by the Victorian artist and book illustrator Walter Crane.
Each copy of the Limited Signed and Boxed Edition will cost: £125 plus shipping and will be available for delivery from 31 March 2021.
Please contact Merlin Unwin Books to reserve a copy now of this Special Edition (+44 (0)1584 877456 or email us at [email protected]).
Best wishes

The description makes no mention of the book itself being any different from the standard edition with the exception of the tipped in limitation. I'd be interested in knowing if it has superior paper and/or an upgraded binding. I hope it's more than a (signed and numbered) standard edition in a slipcase.

I'm assuming standard edition in a slipcase.
I sent an e-mail, after having seen some of the slipcases' examples I am feeling even more excited about it.
It is the first time I ask to reserve a book with this method, should I expect to receive a confirmation e-mail in a week or so? And how does the overall process work? Apologies for the silly questions and thank you all.
