Not saying anything bad about it by any means (pretty sweet to have that signature) I just thought that the special edition would be....well, more special.
Yes, exactly. Jo was very kind and understanding, she arranged for a replacement dustjacket to be posted but I don't know if it has already been shipped to Italy. You are probably right about the "50 bookbuyers". This was my first replacement request but I doubt that the answers to these requests are always affirmative and pleasant, am I wrong?Khamûl wrote:

Just to let everyone know, Jo at Merlin Unwin is in the process of remedying the damaged book. Any reservations I may have had are now gone.
Same for my damaged dustjacket.
My Sp. Ed. also came slightly damaged to the top of the spine. The dent went through to the book (which I can live with; nobody will ever see this), but the jacket damage is unsightly & rather annoying. Did Jo simply arrange for a replacement jacket to be posted for you, FH?
This aside, we must be the most annoying & particular bunch of 50 bookbuyers Merlin Unwin Books has ever had the misfortune of dealing with!

To be fair, given the price (for what it is), I don't think many buyers would be expecting anything less than perfect.

That's why I dropped out when my postage quote came out so high. It had just become too expensive for what it was. If I was in the UK, I'd still have purchased it (and possibly if I hadn't already purchased and handled the standard edition), but I'm perfectly happy with my standard edition, tbh (which BD managed to get to me pristine).
I thought about putting my '99 in the slipcase but can't do it. I asked if just the case could be had but no, only 50 made.
Received my copy #2 !
In perfect condition.
As it was told here, I prefer how the book looks in the slipcase without its dustjacket.
