I'm getting news from the Dutch Tolkien Society that Cor Blok passed away yesterday. More info soon.
That's sad news. I'm glad his Tolkien work got wider exposure through Pieter's book and the calendars.
Does anyone know if Cor Blok's "Iron Parachute" was ever published? It allegedly came out in 2016, but I never managed to find it, and Oloris Publishing (in Toronto) had gone under by the time I looked. It looked really interesting (and weird).

All indications are that it did get published, but I don't know how many were printed. It was available through Amazon for a time (not currently available to order, but the page is still up)

Oloris posted on their Facebook page on March 16, 2017 the following:
Cor Blok is a well known, well loved illustrator whose Tolkien art is treasured by many. He published a remarkable graphic novel with us reminiscent of Edward Gorey. The story told is non-linear, like a dream. "The Iron Parachute" begins with an arrival and it ends with a departure, but in between it behaves like the dragonfly’s larva which hides in a little tube made of tiny bits and pieces of matter collected on its way through the water of a brook: moving through a variety of environments in the course of time it draws to itself odds and ends that happen to attract its attention. This unique and magical book is available on Amazon...

Yeah, I had come to the conclusion that it probably did have some copies printed, but was only available for a fairly short time. I think the Amazon link is just a legacy at this point.
