I stay with mine. Not as good as the one sold today. But got it for £50 !

I do like this set, still trying to find out about my second copy on the right of the picture, the books and case are different from the usual editions (on the left).

Trotter Mine is the same than your right one. Not as wide as the usual one, and of a brighter red.

The left set seems to be more common, if you can call any copies of these common at the moment, though with that sale on eBay a few may come out of the woodwork.

The box certainly makes these desirable and I’d like it that way, but I’ll just have to stick to my three not being in a box and only costing me about £50 overall.

Madness. I paid $35 Australian and got an unread 70s one volume LoTR paperback thrown in.

I bought my nf box a couple of years ago for £120 and thought I overpaid it.
But let's face it, it's a quite uncommon box these days.

Tolkien collecting world (and its value) is changing every day, since a very few years.
I'm looking at ebay every day very assiduously and in 3 years I have seen 3 of these box sets : one sold £500 (BIN), the one of today (£560+ "all the brexit of the world") and mine I bought on a third party c-to-c website for £50.

Of course it will ! :) Although the tolkienbookshelf customs boxes are really beautiful in my opinion.
Btw this listing has a faded spine RotK..
