A great selection. My personal favourite is 'Tolkien: maker of middle-earth'. I have yet to read 'a wilderness of dragons'.

I've read
Tolkien's Library ,
Worlds of J.R.R. Tolkien and
Tolkien: Maker of Middle-earth , and I think they're all great works, each in its way.
Can't they do as in the Tokyo 2020 high jump competition and award multiple first-place results?

In terms of importance to Tolkien scholarship, Maker of Middle-earth is the clear winner. I believe that as a 2018 work this is also it's last year of eligibility. It ought to have won earlier; it will be a great injustice if it doesn't win this time. The other works are important too (though not as important), but they'll also remain eligible for a few more years.
