Then I own the early deluxe editions of Poems, Hobbit and Lotr, from which Hobbit and Lotr are from the estate of Rayner Unwin.
All the books you posted are great! I especially like the quoted above, and yours are even more special! Congratulations on owning such magnificent books!
P.S.: I found your blog! https://thereandbackagainwithtolkien.blogspot.com/ Out of curiosity, how much were you charging for the The Lord of the Rings - limited special edition Klett Cotta ? New on KC's site is 900 euro, and I've seen several on ebay.de at the same prize. I'd love to have this edition, but it's so expensive! Is there any other German website I could check for used books where this one might appear? Thanks!
A few unread paperbacks. Stories from Third Age isn't uncommonly special, box-wise, sadly. But they aren't very common. One thing I like about the old paperback boxed sets is that they have traditionally cost nothing.

If I remember right, I sold it for 450€ plus shipping. That was 6 years ago, when I was offered a untouched, fine copy with some other nice editions. The one I sold was in nf condition. Besides ebay.de you can try ebay-kleinanzeigen, zvab.de and booklooker.de

Thank you! All of these only have the book for 900€, I'll periodically check these websites in the future, thanks!
This thread brought out some fantastic pictures and information - thanks to everyone who has taken the time to post up their amazing books.
Don't have quite the collection as many others but both of my Farmer Giles are surprisingly good condition. The left is a 1st/2nd and the right is a 1st/4th with a 5th impression jacket that my grandfather had. The 1st/2nd still has a nice dark blue stain to the top as well

Lovely!
I have to share with you the PEARL, first edition, 1953, I have purchased recently .
Conditions are so pristine that I almost have the feeling to be back in 1953 and have a brand new book in my hands.
Never saw an original jacket like this
