@uruloke How does the quality of the leather seem? Obviously it is going to be nothing special, but does it give the satisfactory illusion of being decent?
It appears pretty decent - much more natural looking than the mockups we were shown prior to release. The cosmetic bands are very thin (they do not bulge out from the panels much at all).

Is the deluxe edition printed by Rotolito as well?
Yes, "Printed and bound in Italy by Rotolito S.p.A."
This is really unlucky to ran into copies with issues like this. Have you an idea about how many pages are concerned with the "blurry" issue ?
Edit : btw I checked my trade copy (quickly) and couldn't find any blurry pages for now.

Have other "blurry page" copies been seen so far? This is the first one I'm seeing...unless I have missed something.

I've seen a handful on facebook and twitter reported. Which, given the small number that have been shipped, could mean anything and doesn't tell us how many total copies might be affected. I've reached out to Blackwells to see if there is anything they are willing to do.
Really hope BW could solve this and send you another copy... but which could bear the same issues.
I have ordered a copy from BW as well this morning. Will tell you by the end of the week.

Looks like some of the pages got printed twice (through the black print, anyway). That's not good. QC at Rotolito doesn't seem the best - there have certainly been a lot of problems with their books, right since the facsimile Hobbit with the end papers loaded in backwards on a significant batch.
Does the problem affect an entire signature?

I can't wait to get my copy
Edit: I had posted a link to the Talking Tolkien video but it didn't get formatted properly :/.

Some are having serious issues with the deluxe : still, the "blurry / double printed" fail, but also some crumpled pages.
An example on fb even shows some pages folded and glued into the binding !!

I think this is really bad to see all these issues shared, although just a few number of books have been shipped. Also, regarding the range (and price) of this book, such a poor Q/C is just totally unacceptable.
