This was tucked into one of my Trotter books.
I can only assume that this location was a source of inspiration for Tolkien, according to a few websites I found when googling. ?

One of my very favourite places in the world. I read Tolkien a lot in my younger years in the area around Snowdonia.
For those interested, most people mispronounce it as Betis-e-Co-id. It is pronounced Betis-i-Coyd.
The beautiful Jemima Catlin Deluxe arrived...in fine condition. Thank you very much for all the help LanceFormation. The small dent in the slipcase was really a very minor issue.
Hello dear fellow Tolkien collectors.
I would like to share with you two of my recent acquisitions, which were by far a dream I would never imagine to fulfill.
I managed to acquire one of the scarcest Tolkien items :
- A Northern Venture (Leeds University English School Association, The Swan Press, 1923)
Along with :
- Oxford Poetry 1915
Both of them are first impressions, A Northern Venture being 1st impression limited to only 170 copies.
They are not in the greatest shape, but still, you know what one Tolkien collector could feel with these in his hands.
What makes them particularly special, is they are both inscribed:
- A Northern Venture is inscribed with the signature of Geoffrey Woledge, who's one of the authors featured in these booklet. Additionaly, my copy presents a complete poem handwritten by Woledge which is not included in the booklet. Woledge was a student of Tolkien when he was teacher at Leeds University. Neil Hems speaks of him in his Tolkien's biography (Great Writers, J.R.R. Tolkien, Chelsea House, 2013, see attached)
- Oxford Poetry 1915 is incribed by T.W. Earp who's one of the two editors of this booklet. He was also a classmate of Tolkien at Exeter College.
Hope you will enjoy these pictures
