Don't know if this is the right forum to post this question, but since I can see that here there are a lot of expert in J.R.R, I'm giving it a try.

After reading almost everything of the Legendarium, I'm growing an interest about the Author himself and the world that he created.
I've ordered the Complete History, and also the Companion, to start a more in depth study about the matter.
So I would like to start reading about him, his thoughts and what is beneath his writings.

Do you have some "must read" essays that can be of help here?
Maybe about his life, dissertations about the Legendarium and critics of general nature.
The only title that comes into my minds is Letters.
