Just a PSA reminder that anyone looking for a copy of this (Priscilla's recent death may have brought it to mind for a few people), should not be paying eBay elevated prices (there are many copies at £500 - £1500 on eBay just at the moment).

It is still available from the publisher for £295, so don't get scalped!

Have to agree with this, they could come down in price to sell the remaining copies.

Agreed. I suspect that they would be coming towards the end now. I tend to think the price looks less inflated now in the context of the current Tolkien marketplace than when it came out (I didn't buy as I felt it was much too expensive).

Just to duplicate over from the recent acquisitions thread, I finally decided to order a copy a couple of weeks ago and it ended up being #216. Annunfalma ordered a copy at broadly the same time and got #573, so we can't read anything much from the copy numbers as to how well (or not well) these have sold, I don't think.

At the shop in 2018, a clerk stated the boxes were not in numerical order and the next box to hand was the next sold. They would not search for specific #s. Oh, to be clear, they politely declined my request.
