1st edition thus. 4to hardback with taupe cloth covers And navy lettering and outline drawing to front cover. Similar lettering and illustration on spine , but rubbed. Rear cover blotchy, possibly from cleaning. Cover a little worn - see pictures. Lovely illustrated endpapers, featuring a peacock. Light foxing to fep. All 16 beautiful tissue guarded tipped in colour plates present. 1 tissue guard missing (page 76). Book features Tolkien’s first poem for children’s literature - Goblin Feet.
