Tolkien (J.R.R.) The Lord of the Rings, 3 vol., first editions, The Fellowship of the Ring thirteenth impression, remaining two volumes tenth impressions, each volume signed by the author on titles, bookseller's signed letter of provenance loosely inserted, folding maps at rear, original cloth, light fading to spines, a little rubbed and scuffed, 8vo, 1963.
⁂ The letter of provenance states that this set was signed by Tolkien for a bookseller during a 1970 promotional signing for the first paperback edition of Lord of the Rings and were subsequently purchased at auction in 2002.
