So, this one is already over what the market says they're worth with this small amount data.

At the time of this writing it's now eclipsed $1200. Do these people know it hasn't auctioned for anywhere near that recently? I'm confused at the volatile nature of these prices.

I think I sold the last one that appeared for sale in 2021, privately through this site for £150, though that copy had no spine.

I also think this is good for the bookshop, can't imagine that they spent more than £5-£10 on the book. They follow me on Twitter and I have posted pictures of my copies of the books saying that they are rare. They have done their research on the book, through this site and https://tolkienbooks.net/php/details2.php?id=134.

This bookshop was in serious trouble a few years ago with no sales at all on one day (three years ago), but using social media positively they have turned around the business.

Very positive to see independent bookshops thrive
