Hey everyone,
I've been collecting the deluxe slipcase editions for a good while, and recently noticed a couple new items appear.
Lord of the Rings (Special Edition) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/0063274736/? ... collsguid-20&linkCode=osi
The Silmarillion (Special Edition) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BMMZVDH9/? ... collsguid-20&linkCode=osi
The style of these seems to be a 'new' collection being published, different than the 'deluxe slipcases' that they've been doing since '04.
So if that's the case, my question is: Does anyone know if there is or will be a version of The Hobbit that goes with these other illustrated 'special' editions?
We discussed this very point in the video that came out today at around the 32 minute mark.
Just got the new paperback box-set of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings
The box took a bit of damage in the post, not going to send it back.

I bought it on eBay as they had a real picture of the box-set, not sure what you would get from Amazon, Blackwell's, etc.

I have ordered direct from HarperCollins. Will post what set I get when it arrives. Should arrive Wednesday or Thursday.
I bought my boxed set in store at Waterstones about 2-3wks ago. I thought I’d posted here but perhaps it was FB only. I don’t have the exclusive red stained set. People were saying back then about being not sure what set they’d get by online ordering as older pictures still being shown. You’d have thought by now stores would’ve updated pictures.

Ah, thanks for the info.
I wasn't sure if I just missed it somehow or what the story was since it seemed a bit odd to me that they'd release Silmarillion before The Hobbit, but I suppose there could be a good reason for it such as they are working on assembling the artwork that will be included, etc.
