Hello all,

I have started to collect the UK first editions of the history of middle earth (while I purchase the new ones). I have volume 4 and 6 and are happy with their condition, but need the remainder. My questions to everyone are:

1. How much should I plan to spend per book?
2. Which books are the rarest, or hardest to get and why?
3. Where is the best place to search for volumes?

I've been on ebay quite a bit. I'm not confident using Abebooks, as I've been bitten the last 3 times that I've used it. I'm also part of the Tolkien collectors community on facebook and reddit. If any of you happen to be selling any first editions please let me know! Thanks for any tips and advice in advance!
