Had an update email from HarperCollins about new releases in the UK and US.
- The Fall of Númenor UK paperback (15th August 2024) - text corrections but no colour plates.
- Farmer Giles of Ham Paperback in September (no hardback this year)
- Mr Bliss moved to 23rd October 2024 in UK, no William Morrow version.
- William Morrow boxed set of the Collector's edition of The Lord of the Rings
- Three companion books for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim film, and a Calendar. A Visual Companion, Colouring Book, and a 2025 Art Of. https://www.tolkienguide.com/modules/n ... ewtopic.php?topic_id=6336
As noted by John Rateliff in his blog post today: Tolkien’s Transformative Women: Art in Triptych by Annie Brust (foreword by John Rateliff)

Do we know if the US printing of the paperback Fall of Numenor has the plates or does it share the same fate as the UK paperback printing?
Just wanted to point out that on the official Tolkien Facebook page, they have a clip featuring what HC is calling ‘Signature Paperbacks.’
In that clip, they showcase the covers of all the available editions in that style. At the end, they show Farmer Giles.
I’m mentioning this for two reasons:
a) to let you know that there’s cover art for the forthcoming paperback
b) to let you know that even the cover’s been revealed, we still don’t have a listing for that edition. In the post, they give a link to all the signature editions, and Farmer Giles isn’t there.
So hopefully soon we’ll see listings of the paperback edition, which will fit well with Tom Bombadil in August (hopefully HC can also put out an accompanying Roverandom and Smith of Wootton Major…..)

We do have the ISBN and the release date, though only the eBooks are currently showing.
