What would you say is a fair price for this copy considering its condition?
An A&U 1946 in poor condition sold for about £400 recently. This copy is arguably worse, especially given the loss of a significant portion of text on that last page. There is also something going on the end-paper, which is normally blank (you can just see something peeking past that torn page). Obviously the binding is pretty much a write-off and a proper professional restoration/rebinding to a good standard would not be cheap. These Children's Book Club editions are uncommon, but I'm always mindful that even just 5 years ago they weren't worth much (unless you got a jacket, in which case different story). For a fairly bad copy like this, I wouldn't be going above £400 (I mean I wouldn't pay that, but equally I have a fairly decent copy already).
