The Fellowship of Ring was published 70 years ago today in the UK. In honor of the occasion I’ve pulled seven different copies (sort of randomly) from my shelves to celebrate the seven decades since publication.
The Shirrifs would love to see your favorite copies! Let’s see ‘em, post away!

A very challenging copy to find, so my favourite copy is probably the Ted Nasmith UK paperback edition.

Favorites seem to change on a continuous basis.....
But in terms of amusement value - this Korean FOTR always bring a smile to my face.
The FOTR being books 1 & 2 of a 6 Volume Set.

The first official Mongolian edition of the Fellowship of the Ring published this year. This is one of 100 special copies with a golden ring verse on a black band as a bookmark, made for the publication event of the book for the Mongolian tolkien society. My favourite FotR always changes but these days this is it. Incredibly happy to have gotten it in my collection with the help of friends and fellow tolkienites in different countries. Illustrated by Alan Lee and quite well-made.

That ribbon bookmark is a cool idea!
My current favorite is my 1st/6th. Not a perfect copy, but one of the crowning jewels of my little collection.
