From a collectors point of view would it be fair to say the Harper Collins version would be the better option as there are less of them?

Well, from a collectors point of view, people collect what they want to collect, not just the book with the lowest number of copies printed.
If you are asking what future value will be, possible that the HC edition will retain value better. Hard to say. I assume it will be reprinted ad-infinitum, so I wouldn't hold any great expectation of value increases (though it is possible).

I agree with The late Stu, these are large numbers and if they sell out, will be reprinted. I don't think it matters which one you get.
Not going to bother asking my in-laws to quality check further (I'll hit up harperCollins if I find any issues down the line), but seem to be the correct books and imprint and packaging seems to have worked. No dents or damage reported by the folks. Purchased direct from HC using the 50% discount.

Very nice, Congratulations and thanks for the update
I reached out to Harper collins and it turns out the print run is 10,000 for HC and and additional 10,0000 for WM.
