Trotter, Do you think that 3 October date is a good one for Le Seigneur des Anneaux? Le Hobbit and Le Silmarillion have been available for about a year now on Amazon.fr, but LSDA isn't listed there yet.
Probably a better question for Bergelmir
Indeed, Trotter !
The publication date has been confirmed for October 3 by the publisher.
I don't know why you couldn't find them, Taivo, but they're definitely available on Amazon.fr here :
- La Fraternité de l'Anneau
- Les Deux Tours
- Le Retour du Roi

Thank you Bergelmir!! Sometimes Amazon's search engine is a little funky and when combined with my college French.... I'm sure I spelled "Le" right, but won't guarantee anything past that. (But even with my poor French, Amazon's French site is identical to the US site so I didn't need a lot of translation skill to navigate it and get them ordered. And it certainly helps that English borrowed all that French vocabulary after 1066.)
Yesterday, at the German Tolkien Society conference, Vincent Ferré announced the publication he directed in tribute to Christopher Tolkien.
It will consist of 12 articles, with a preface by Baillie Tolkien and a selection of nature photos (butterflies, flowers, etc.) taken by Christopher himself.
However, at present, only a digital version in French is planned.

Thank you for the heads up. I asked Vincent over on Twitter and he said that he hopes that an English translation will follow.

You're welcome !
To be honest, I'd be very surprised if such a book wasn't translated and eventually published.
But I had to remain very factual to share the information ^^
Anyway, I'll obviously keep you posted if there's any news !
Aha, Emilien !
I'm honored to share with you the publication, in 4 days, of L'Encyclopédie de la Terre du Milieu: Numenor et le Deuxième Âge (The Encyclopedia of Middle-earth: Numenor and the Second Age), co-written with Damien Bador, Audrey Morelle, Coralie Potot, Jean-Rodolphe Turlin and Dominique Vigot.
As for The Hobbit Encyclopedia, we hope Frances Lincoln will publish an English translation.

Many thanks for the information.
Is this the one that is already published?

[Edit] Sorry, I see what you mean - you hope an English Version of this new edition will also be published...
