In reply to Thrain II's question "Is there a possibility of Alan Lee illustrating the Silmarillion for a future edition of the Folio Society?"................every possibility of The Silmarillion being added as long as Alan's arthritic hands hold out
That edition would be illustrated by Ted Nasmith not Alan Lee.
If FS were to continue beyond these two, I think that they would be wise to do limited editions of The Great Tales. Higher price point, books which don't have especially good deluxe editions beyond The Children of Hurin. I think that they would be popular.
Interestingly, in the interview that came out celebrating this Folio Hobbit, Alan said he wouldnt be illustrating the Silmarillion as he felt this was Ted Nasmith's domain (cannot remember the exact words).
I signed up and never even saw the email. I suspect they sent out emails in a first come first serve order until they were gone?

Emails from newsletters tend to be sent out in alphabetical order, hence why I received FS's email over an hour after the sale started, and an hour after it sold out. I wasn't buying one so harm done to me, but having a 'W' surname means I get newsletters late on a regular basis.

Yeah, seems plausible. I got the email at 16:06 GMT whilst the book was still technically available.
A reminder that the event was in the TCG Calendar and the post had a link to the Folio Society page to order the book, I used that link not the email from the Folio Society.

A lesson to those who want to be alerted first via newsletters, call yourself Mr or Mrs Aardvark
I am hoping to get my copy tomorrow, and if so will be doing a livestream unboxing with Mr. Underhill on Christopher's Centenary Birthday, at least in UK time. More details will be posted tomorrow.
