tolkienbrasil, is the slipcase on your deluxe "Complete History of Middle-earth" loose? Mine doesn't fit well and it bothers me! 7th printing, Rotolito.

There is a huge amount of slipcase variation between impressions that I have observed in pictures of these, even from the same printers. 1st LEGO impression is - if anything - a fraction tighter than is ideal. I just dug it out to check as I have the 1st Clays impression on my shelf (which is generally rubbish, albeit only a tiny number of copies were printed). I suspect if this LEGO set was read to any degree (causing the bindings to puff out a bit), it would get quite difficult to slip in and out.

I made this video on my YouTube channel about this collection. I show all the copies I have. So you can see what the History of Middle-earth is like. In the video I speak Portuguese, but I think if you use the automatic subtitles you will be able to see a English translation.I hope this was helpful:

Yes, they are likely done with the deluxe slipcase editions I have been told.
Interesting that they ended up releasing 10 more books (and counting?) in this line. Last year was the first year since 2016 that there wasn't at least one release in the deluxe "quarter-bound in colorful paper" line.
Anyone know what caused HarperCollins to change their mind about being likely done with this line? I would guess "projected sales" but I can't imagine there's that much demand for deluxe releases of titles like The Story of Kullervo and The Battle of Maldon. Maybe I underestimate the demand for such things.
Not complaining, I love this line! I wish they'd have done/do more release in the deluxe series with the clothbound covers. History of the Hobbit seems like it would have been good for that.

Maybe I should just read mine more, and it will fix my problem! It's not super-loose, not as much as say Collected Poems, but it definitely doesn't fit well.

Prob just don't worry about it. They won't fall out on the shelf, and too loose is always preferable to too tight for slipcases, as too loose is mildly annoying (though Poems took it a bit too far), but too tight make the slipcase non-functional and/or book-damaging.
