For the first time, fans can experience a Tolkien Society conference in person in the US! Westmoot will take place May 9th-11th in Kansas City, Missouri, at the National WWI Museum and Memorial. This location offers unique insight into ‘The Great War,’ in which Tolkien served as an officer for the British Army, an experience that profoundly influenced his life and writings. The event will feature a range of presentations, including talks, quizzes, lectures, workshops, performances, papers, discussions, and entertainment, providing a rich and engaging experience for all attendees.

This sounds interesting. I seen the outside of the WWI museum, closed at the time. A very Gotham like place. There was a Batman there doing a photo shoot.

Hello! Is the Student/Educator price a university student discount? I live in the U.S. and am currently attending university, and this may be my only chance to attend Westmoot in the near future. If this is for university students, that would greatly increase the chances of me being able to afford the trip. Thank you for any feedback!
