I just got this interesting programme of Rob Inglis performing an adaptation of The Hobbit he wrote at the 1981 Edinburgh Fringe.
I believe he did various performances of the Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings in theatres and that these eventually led to him to be chosen to read the official autobooks.
