That's a great post, thanks for doing that. I've been looking specifically for a nice 2022 hardback set for my baby nephew who was born last year and has his birthday end of this month. Ergo a year of birth set.
I've seen this Hobbit edition that matches the one in your original post but it's a 2012 printing.
My questions:
1. Is there a 2022 printing of this edition? (If so I've not seen one)
2. Is the 2012 printing I found above the size of the 2013 or 2022 edition in your OP? (I'm hoping it's the 2022 size. ?)

I'm sorry to disappoint, but it is the wrong size for the 2022 edition and is the same size as the 2013 editions.
I think they still fit well together, but just not the same size.
All the 2012 editions of the Hobbit that I've seen the inside of say "collectors" edition... which is the same as the 2013 LOTR "collectors" edition so I was starting to come to the same conclusion. 
Nevermind, still plenty of options. I'll just have to put my thinking cap on again. The 2013 box set is lovely but not worth the ridiculous asking price that I've seen banded about.

It now seems there is a Hobbit to compliment the 2022 set. I found it in my local Waterstones shop today. Unfortunately, it’s the same ISBN as the older books so not easy to find online I’d say. It doesn’t start as new as the LotR set did. I found impressions 14 & 15 in the shop with 14 being the older and slightly larger book. Both had the latest Tolkien book published as, The Fall of Númenor so both are fairly recent copies. Here’s a few pictures
