The UK 2nd Impression Hobbit is probably my favourite GA&U edition. I love the colour illustrations, whilst the US firsts are nice I don't like the weird 'butchering' of the colour illustrations that took place.
I also like the dust-wrapper 'blurb' in the 2nd Impression, which was only ever used for this one printing.
If you have one of these without a dust-jacket then make sure that you get a 2nd Impression facsimile and not a 1st Impression facsimile.

Yeah, minor bump to the DJ of Bombadil in the indentation next to the spine, but otherwise no problems. My heart sank when I saw the bubble mailer, but I got lucky and they are really nice for 30 year old books. Very clearly unread.
Awesome. I can imagine your reaction to the sight of the postman and his envelope ?... I wonder if some sellers know that they send books instead of slices of ham ?
