Hi there,
I recently acquire a Linguaphone English in pretty good condition, but lacking the booklets. I have no idea how much booklets come with the set in particular and what they have to look like. Could some members help me and maybe post photos of the booklets to know what to look for ?
Thanks !

Congrats on the find Druss!
I have I think most of what you need, but won’t be home until late tomorrow, so look for something on Tuesday from me.
If anyone else can help, feel free to chime in as well!

Here's the Tolkienbooks.net page for the linguaphone set: http://www.tolkienbooks.net/php/details.php?reference=13390 I agree with this part:
Here is a post by another member last year:
Here is a set that was for sale on TolkienLibrary
Tolkienano is a site member that (as of last year) had five copies with booklets, so a private message there could help get more info.
In The Tolkien Collector issue #5 (Nov 1993), René van Rossenberg wrote an article on the Dutch Linguaphone set that contains four booklets: one in hardcover and in english with all of the text of the recordings; the other three books in Dutch - a dictionary arranged by lesson, a grammar book, and a manual on how to use the records and books.
Hope this helps!
The printed material accompanying the records appears to vary slightly, both in number and content, depending on the country and date of issue, as do the record labels and sleeves.
Here is a post by another member last year:
All books are included (5 in total). The set is to French speakers, so some booklets are in French. all is in Mint condition (probably never used...):
- Linguaphone Conversational Course English
- Guide de l'étudiant au Cours de Langues par la methode linguaphone
- Vocabulaire Anglais-Francais
- Par "Linguaphone" La Nouvelle Méthode...
- Les Langues Etrangères par la Méthode Linguaphone.

Lacking the original 4 booklets, but all records are present and in great condition.

It's help yes and... no
For what I know, I have the same set as Tolkieniano, the English version, but he lacks the booklets too (if I understand well) : https://tolkieniano.blogspot.com/2015/ ... uaphone-inglese-1930.html
With all the links, I believe that the English version has only one (or two maybe) booklet : Linguaphone Conversational Course English.. But what are the good one between all these versions, with or without the star, hardcover or not ?

Just based on a brief survey of Tolkieano and other sites online, it does appear that the Star on the cover is on the earliest editions of the booklet for the "conversational course". The vocabulary booklet is only in the foreign editions, as there is no need for an English -> English booklet in the English set.
At least two of the other booklets are generic , i.e. how Linguaphone works, who they are, how to use the records, etc.
Given these were in production for decades, in multiple languages, I do not think anyone currently has any definitive answers for which booklets were with which sets in which printings.
Also just because a set currently "together" has a booklet does not mean that the booklet came with the set originally. I sold a set about a decade ago where the booklets physically did not fit inside the case, so clearly at least one of them had been later added to the "set".

Hello. I'm back with a "new" set. As you see, the box isn't in good state, but the discs are all there and in a good state. Surprisingly, if the box and the discs are from a German set, the 4 booklets are from a French set. So, I'm considering to create a whole set by mixing my first box with the booklets of the second one. I wonder if it's a good idea ?
