I brought my set many years from a guy who allegedly brought from new and then only ever had books facing inwards on his shelf
Interestingly and pleasingly the Two Towers is unaffected ?

Very beautiful books here!!! Most are looking as if never touched again after purchase.
Maybe it would be much more difficult to show flawless copies of the newest publications, knowing how loveless they are distributed today

Here comes a selection of my stuff. The ACE LotR edition seems to be unread.
The wrappers on the last pictures show some wear, but here the challenge is to find wrappers at all.

Here is my contribution, with a 1st printing 1967 2nd US edition and the 1977 Tolkien Collection paperback boxset.

Would add those ones as well :
- Tree and leaf 1962 1st edition (although it is not as pristine as Berelach copy)
- Longman Hobbit 1st Impression
- 1961 Puffin Hobbit
- 1966 Hobbit (17th imp. 1966)
- Smith of Wootton Major (with unfaded spine)
- 1949 Farmer Giles of Ham 1st Edition

Emilien, your 1967 2nd US edition is in really great condition! It's so difficult to find a 1st printing in whatever condition, but yours is so excellent, congratulations

Here are still some of my 'younger' copies, all 1st printings. I needed years to find a copy of US Letters that satisfied me, most of the offered ones have bad wrappers.

You US copies are really beautifull as well ! Mines are not as good. My T&L is not so bad but with a little faded spine.
And agree about US Letters, I think I've always seen teared or worn dust jackets on this one. Congrats ! yours is pristine
