I've been looking forever as well. Congrats - I didn't believe such a thing even existed. Now remember to keep it in the dark and keep it cold!
Many thanks. I did not think one existed either and less so as the years went on.
Thankfully the library has no windows - so hopefully will be able to preserve the colour.

Thank you, Mr. Underhill (I wish you good luck to complete the Monograph series, I think it's an intriguing hunt) and Emilien!

- Unfinished Tales - US pre-publication review copy
- A Criticism of The Lord of the Rings, 1973
- The Gryphon newsletters, library bound volumes. v2 (1920-1921, complete), v3 (1921-1922, complete), v5 (1923-1924, complete), v6-7 (1924-1926, missing some issues sadly)
- Pauline Baynes Christmas hand-cut wooden puzzle

I saw that online for sale…curious if the book itself differs from the first printing?

I really doubt it, but I haven’t gone through it yet. I was mostly after the ephemera that came with, and the seller accepted my (much lower than asking) offer. ?
Interestingly, I cannot find a normal first US impression Unfinished Tales around here. I think I gave it to someone else at some point.
Does someone here have a copy of a first and can post a picture of the rear flap? This review copy rear flap differs substantially from what Hammond's Bibliography describes.
