And I was the buyer! And, consistent with speculation upthread, one of the failed bidders on the most recent 1st impression copy. It's one of the ostensible gaps in my collection (like a jacketed copy of the Reader's Club Hobbit) that I felt like filling. I wasn't too surprised, actually, that the bidding on the 1st impression copy went so high; accordingly, when another copy with a Buy Now option appeared, I was more than ready to act. Looking forward to delivery!

I love it, passion and monopoly. Getting the community engaged in acquiring niche items and having a laugh at the occasional sting (like missing out on Lance's proof LOTR), than snarky digs.

Now bring out more of your rarities for sale haha.
