There and Back Again
A Map Of Bilbo's Journey Through Eriador And Rhovanion
[TOLKIEN, J.R.R.] / BAYNES, Pauline
George Allen & Unwin, 1971.
First edition, privately printed and issued. Signed by Pauline Baynes to the lower right corner. 510 x 710mm. Illustrated map of Bilbo's journey in The Hobbit, in full colour. A very good example, crisp, but somewhat faded.
The rare private printing of Pauline Baynes's There And Back Again map of Bilbo's journey in The Hobbit. There were 50 privately printed copies planned for the Map Of Middle-Earth, and it is reasonable to presume a similarly small quantity were produced for the present map.
This example has "first printing issued privately" to the colophon. The trade edition has "First Trade Printing 1971" to the colophon. It is also signed by Pauline Baynes, but this is uncommon; it was not signed as a matter of course.
PROVENANCE: From the estate of an Allen & Unwin sales representative.

Be careful with this listing, as the pictures you see are not from the book being sold.
The following mention at the very bottom of the item description says : 'Still sealed in the factory plastic wrap, the photos were taken of an opened copy'.
So you might grab a reprint, and not a LEGO first print.

Looks genuine, but how could we be certain?
